Breast Lift with Augmentation Surgery

While drooping or sagging of the breasts is a common result of aging, weight fluctuation, genetics, and pregnancy, it is a source of self-consciousness for many women. A breast lift, or mastopexy, can restore the breasts to their original position by removing excess skin from the breasts to create a more youthful, natural-looking bustline. An authority on aesthetic breast surgery, our surgeon Dr. David Horvath performs breast lift with augmentation for patients in the Philadelphia area who want to rejuvenate their breasts and enhance their overall appearance.

About Breast Lift with Augmentation

Many of our patients who are interested in a breast lift have lost significant breast volume. This condition, known as ptosis, is particularly common after weight loss or breastfeeding. For patients who suffer from ptosis or want to add some additional volume, Dr. Horvath incorporates breast augmentation into the breast lift procedure. With breast implants, Dr. Horvath can both add volume and enhance the contour of the bustline. Breast lift with augmentation typically does not require any additional surgery or incisions, and the results Dr. Horvath is able to produce are truly eye-catching.

The Breast Lift Procedure

There are different locations where the incisions can be placed during breast lift surgery, depending on the amount of tissue to be removed. Typically, the procedure will require an incision around the areola, and it may or may not require others. After Dr. Horvath makes the initial incision, he will remove any excess tissue and tighten the skin. Dr. Horvath pays particular attention to shaping the underlying gland to give as much upper breast fullness as possible and a youthful, tight appearance.

Breast lift is generally performed as an outpatient procedure under local or general anesthesia. The whole procedure usually takes two hours or less. Some swelling and discomfort is normal following the procedure, but it should fade within a few weeks. Until the breasts have healed, it is important to avoid bending over, strenuous exercise, and other activities that could put strain on the breast lift incisions or cause an injury.

Breast Lift Results

After a breast lift with augmentation, our patients notice significantly increased breast volume and improved breast position. The breasts are positioned higher on the chest to create fuller, more sensual cleavage that enhances the body’s natural curves. Many breast lift patients undergo the procedure as part of a comprehensive body contouring procedure, making it an integral part of a total body makeover. Breast lift has an extremely high satisfaction rate and, for the right candidate, it can be truly life changing.
