Facial Rejuvenation Procedures

Facial rejuvenation is a true marriage of art and science, and Dr. David Horvath is highly experienced in both areas. He will emphasize the natural beauty of your face and enhance it using the latest technology to eliminate years of aging and sun damage. There are many procedures available at Horvath Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery Center, including rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, and non-surgical BOTOX® injections. With so many options, we can find a treatment to meet your needs.

Rhinoplasty

If you feel like you have an imperfect nose and it’s taking away from your overall appearance, a rhinoplasty procedure may be just what the doctor ordered. Dr. Horvath can use rhinoplasty techniques to adjust the size, shape, and position of the nose. He can also correct a deviated septum and restore the nose after an injury.

When performing rhinoplasty, Dr. Horvath corrects flaws in nasal structure by sculpting or removing bone and cartilage in the nose. Parts of the nose can also be augmented using artificial implant materials such as AlloDerm®. Rhinoplasty is typically performed on an outpatient basis.

Immediately after rhinoplasty, it is normal to experience some swelling and bruising in the nose and face. These side effects fade significantly within a few weeks after surgery, and will continue to fade over the next few months. Rhinoplasty patients should avoid activities that could injure the nose during recovery. Please contact our office for more information, or to schedule a rhinoplasty consultation with Dr. Horvath.

Facial Implants

Facial contours can be enhanced by facial implants. They can strengthen the jaw line, bring balance to the cheekbones or chin, and generally improve the basic structure of the face. Facial implants can fill out a face with a “sunken” appearance, bring certain structural components into better proportion, and be used to accentuate other cosmetic procedures such as a facelift or rhinoplasty. Dr. Horvath uses many different types of implant material, including silicone. Here are just some of the facial implant procedures Dr. Horvath performs:

Chin

A chin implant can enhance the structure of your face, for the appearance you’ve always dreamed of. The whole procedure usually lasts less than an hour, and there is little to no visible scarring. Dr. Horvath will shape and fit the implant to your chin, and insert it through an incision made inside the mouth or just under the chin area. The implant will then be placed into a pocket over the front of the jawbone. After chin implant surgery, it is normal for swelling and difficulty talking and chewing to occur for several days. Following your recovery, you’ll have a new look and, hopefully, an improved self-esteem!

Cheek

Often used in combination with other cosmetic procedures, cheek implants can give more volume to your face and establish a younger-looking appearance. An incision is made inside your upper lip or your lower eyelid, and, after a pocket is formed, the implant is inserted. Some temporary problems with moving your mouth and lips may follow the procedure, but side effects of cheek implant surgery are highly varied with each patient. Dr. Horvath will go over all preoperative and postoperative instructions with you in detail.

AlloDerm®

This natural graft/implant material is a cutting-edge treatment for lower eye-lids, rhinoplasty, lip augmentation and a host of cosmetic procedures. AlloDerm® contains no cells that can cause inflammation, rejection, or allergic reaction in the body. It looks and feels natural, and it is the only graft/implant that is capable of regenerating normal tissue. Processed by the LifeCell Corporation, AlloDerm® is an FDA-regulated material derived from donated human tissue. After a purification process, the donor tissue is reduced to a collagen framework that strengthens the skin. AlloDerm® goes through the same safety protocols as any donor material must, and all donors are meticulously screened by the U.S. Tissue bank. Since the early 1990’s, more than 30,000 patients have been treated with AlloDerm®.

Fillers and BOTOX® Cosmetic

Many of our patients are interested in cosmetic treatments, but prefer to avoid surgery. Injectable products offer a whole range of long-lasting facial rejuvenation benefits to our patients without the need for surgery.

BOTOX® Cosmetic

Slow the aging process with one of the most popular treatments available for wrinkles and fine lines. BOTOX® Cosmetic is an injectable, natural material that relaxes the muscles below the skin, smoothing away wrinkles to leave the face with a refreshed, youthful appearance. It is approved by the FDA for wrinkle treatment, and is safe enough for almost any patient in the hands of a trained professional like Dr. Horvath. With BOTOX® Cosmetic, you can reduce or eliminate wrinkles, fine lines, and other premature aging symptoms to look and feel your best.

A BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment session is quick and convenient enough to fit the schedule of even the busiest professionals. The entire treatment lasts under 15 minutes, making it easy to get treatment during a lunch break. There is essentially no recovery time, and patients are able to return to their normal daily routines immediately after receiving BOTOX® injections. The benefits of BOTOX® Cosmetic can last up to four months, and subsequent maintenance treatments may last longer.

Sculptra®

This revolutionary new treatment can do wonders for hollowed-out facial features. Lipoatrophy is the loss of fat in the face, which can create a sunken appearance. This loss of fat naturally occurs as the face ages and is also a common condition among HIV sufferers. Lipoatrophy allows loose skin and wrinkles to form, like the deflation of a balloon.

Injected directly under the surface of the skin, Sculptra® stimulates cells to produce their own collagen, which can gradually thicken the skin and improve facial volume, returning a more youthful appearance. Results have been known to last up to two years after only one treatment. Sculptra® can also be used to correct skin depressions such as wrinkles, scars, and eye rings. It requires no skin testing because it is not derived from animal proteins. Please contact Dr. Horvath with questions or to schedule a consultation regarding this amazing product.

Collagen

A natural protein in the skin, collagen provides volume and elasticity that can make for fuller lips and a smoother face. Fine lines can be erased by a simple collagen injection under the skin. The effect of collagen usually lasts about six months, and can be replenished as needed.

Restylane®

For a long-lasting, fast-acting treatment to augment thin lips and reduce wrinkles, Restylane® is ideal. The active ingredient in Restylane® is hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body and acts as a cushion and lubricant for body tissues. Since Restylane® is synthesized in a laboratory, there are no animal proteins involved. Also, Restylane® usually leaves no scarring at the injection sites. Dr. Horvath can use Restylane® to enhance the effects of a surgical procedure like blepharoplasty or rhinoplasty, or as a wrinkle treatment for those wrinkles not appropriate for BOTOX® injections. The benefits of Restylane® typically last about six months or more, and treatment can be repeated as needed to maintain results.

CosmoDerm™

CosmoDerm™ is a collagen filler that is created from human-based collagen. An injection just below the surface of the skin can fill lines and wrinkles or create fuller lips. This natural, non-surgical filler can change the look of your face, taking years off your appearance in almost no time at all.

Radiesse®

Radiesse® is a dermal filler that works with your body in a amazing way. It immediately adds volume upon injection, and unlike other fillers it continues to work over time. Results may last for a year or more, reducing the need for retreatment and saving you time and money compared with other fillers.

Radiesse® features patented microsphere technology and works by stimulating the production of new collagen around the injection area, contouring and augmenting facial features for a younger appearance. Radiesse® is made from a biocompatible substance that is naturally found in the body, so there’s almost no risk of allergic reaction and very few side effects. It has received approval from the FDA and been extensively tested with excellent safety and efficacy results.

Treatment with Radiesse® is simple and convenient, and can be performed over a lunch hour. Contact Dr. Horvath to learn more about this amazing dermal filler or to schedule a consultation today.

Chemical Peels

Chemoexfoliation, or chemical peels, have been used since the time of the ancient Egyptians to rejuvenate skin. Dr. Horvath has devoted a great amount of training to chemical peel treatments and has extensive experience performing these procedures. Chemical peels simply utilize special solutions that are applied to the skin to remove damaged outer layers and expose the fresh, unblemished skin underneath. This treatment can restore the skin’s youthful appearance, getting rid of wrinkles and age spots.

Dr. Horvath’s preferred method is the Baker Chemical Peel; he actually trained with its creator, Dr. Baker, while in Miami. This phenol peel does wonders for deep furrows and wrinkles. For more superficial flaws, Dr. Horvath uses the popular TCA peel to refresh the skin’s surface layers.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing can eliminate damage to the skin caused by the sun, the aging process, and scars. Using the latest technology, Dr. Horvath directs beams of highly concentrated light onto the surface of the skin to restore a clear, smooth facial appearance. Laser skin resurfacing is safe and causes little to no bleeding during treatment.
